This overnight trip is packed full of history! There will be a fast food stop going to Gettysburg. Upon arrival, enjoy free time to explore the Visitor's Center and have lunch in the Battleground Cafe. Then hop back on the bus for a guided tour of the battlefields, left exactly like they were duriong the Civil War! Be treated to a delicious, colonial dinner at the historic 1776 Dobbin House Tavern, while being surrounded by candlelit elegance and friendly hospitality. This authentic Civil War era hot spot is ideally situated to overlook the spot where Lincoln gave "The Gettysburg Address". After checking into the hotel, opt for a walking ghost tour...see if you can feel lingering spirits from wartime!
DDay 2
Start the day with a complimentary breakfast in the hotel's Victorian-style cottage, built in 1880. Visit Hallabaugh Bros Fruit Farm to learn about the orchards in-season fruit, then check out the two newest museums in town, The WWII Museum tranports you to a different war while the Beyond the Battle Museum provides the people's perspective during the Civil War. Eat a family-style lunch at the Hickory Bridge Farm. Enjoy a stop at Mister Ed's Elephant Museum and Candy Emporium and then a wine tasting at Adams County Winery. There will be a fast food stop on our way home.
