Explore the Henry Ford Museum, and tour the Rouge Factory. Visit the historic Castle Farms for lunch and a walking tour of its exquisite grounds, then drive around Charlevoix to admire the architecture. Spend an evening on Mackinac Island, exploring the downtown area on your own, then enjoy a carriage tour of the island before heading to Thunder Bay Resort. Board a horse-drawn carriage for a ride through the woods to a log cabin for a gourmet meal! Follow the coast of Lake Huron for a stop at the Sturgeon Point Lighthouse. Visit the exuberant Christmas collection at Bronner’s, then finish up with a tour of the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum and a BBQ dinner

Depart with guide for Castle Farms, Charlevoix, MI

Enjoy a walking and tram tour (weather permitting) through this unique facility. Your tour guide will delight your group with the rich history of Castle Farms, from its original construction in 1918 as the Loeb Farm, to the Van Haver art studio and gallery period, as well as the music concert era, and through the extensive restoration process from 2001 to present. The completed buildings and landscaped gardes are breathtaking.

Depart for a tour of Charlevoix.

Day 3 Arrive 1:45 PM

Arrive Charlevoix - Harsha House Museum. A local guide will show you the architectural diversity of this lovely city. Highlighted are the more than thirty homes designed by local architect Earl Young. Dating from 1921 to 1950's, these unique "mushroom houses" are built out of native stone and sport cedar shake roofs.

Depart for Mackinac City.

Arrive Mackinac City - Michigan Welcome Center. Meet your guide for a fascinating ride across the Mighty Mac. At one time, this was the longest suspension bridge in the world. Hear the dramatic tales of the brave iron workers who built this massive structure. Your guide will provide more than hearsay - in many cases, these are eyewitness accounts of local history. Accommodations tonight are at the Bicycle Street Inn. Located on Main Street in the center of downtown Mackinac Island, Bicycle Street Inn & Suites blends perfectly with the Victorian character of Main Street, while offering all the modern interior touches. The evening is free for you to explore this unique island at your leisure. Be sure to taste some of the famouse Mackinac Island fudge.

Board a carriage for a tour of the island. For anyone who has seen the movie "Somewhere in Time" there will be moments of deja vu during the tour of this picturesque island. The tour ends wit the buffet at that Grand Hotel. Following lunch, take some time to relax on the hotel's porch is the world's largest and has one of the most spectacular views of the straits.

Ferry departs for Mackinaw City.

Follow the coast of Lake Huron to picturesque Sturgeon Point Lighthouse.

Day 5 Arrive 9:00 AM

Arrive Sturgeon Point Lighthouse. Operated by the Alcona Historical Society, the tower is 70 feet, 9 inches tall and is 16 feet in diameter at its base. Visit the maritime museum in the keeper's house and walk along the peaceful shore.

Depart for Bronner's Christmas Wonderland.

Arrive Bronners. Nowhere is Christmas displayed with such exuberance! Christmas Lane, Bronner's own thoroughfare is 1/2 mile long and is illuminated with over 100,000 Christmas lights. When Wally Bronner painted his first sign over 50 years ago, little did he dream that his small business would one day become the world's largest Christmas store. It is a shopper's dream! The overall size of Bronner's building is approx. 5.5 football fields of space featuring over 50,000 trims, gifts and collectibles. Of the more than 6000 styles of ornaments which Bronner's carries, half of the glass ornaments are Bronner's exclusive designs. Inside and out, Chritmas lights abound. Bronner's electric bill averages $1250 per day! There is a cafe at Bronners for lunch on your own!

Depart for the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant.

Arrive the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum. The plant is a former factory located within the Milwaukee Junction area of Detroit, Michigan. Built in 1904, it was the second center of automobile production for the Ford Motor Company, after the Ford Mack Avenue Plant and the first building built for automobile production. At the Piquette Avenue Plant, the company created and first produced the Ford Model T. It was also the first factory where more than 100 cars were assembled in one day.
A tour and dinner are include at the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant. Menu to include: House Salad, Pulled Pork, Apple BBQ Chicken, Mac-n-cheese, Pit-smoked Beans, Coleslaw, Cornbread, Assorted BBQ Sauces, Cookies and Bottled Water.
